About Shepshed Lions

Shepshed Lions Club was established in 1987 and granted it’s Charter that year, as part of the larger organisation of Lions Clubs International.

We are a group of volunteers who freely give up our time on a regular basis to undertake fund-raising and service activities in Shepshed and the surrounding area.

The object of this activity is to support and help people or groups that are less fortunate than ourselves, with real needs. The activities include an annual Charity Carnival, a Santa Sleigh with street collection, a Christmas Market, Easter egg raffle, supermarket tin shakes and many other fund raising events.

We are always looking for suitable new members to join our team. If you have some spare time, and want to put something back into our community then please contact us. We would love to meet you!

How the funds we raise are distributed.

We spend the vast majority of our funds supporting our local community with funding grants. However, as part of an International organisation, we support disaster funds around the world, through our parent organisation.

We support a large variety of local good causes including youth projects, a local food bank and community groups. We hold a Senior Citizens Lunch each year, along with the annual Shepshed Charity Carnival.

Shepshed Lions Club has also established a Community First Responders Group in the area.

Every single penny we raise goes to good causes in our local community.
